Our Plots

The key to planting and growing a successful food plot is the combination of many factors.  But it all starts with a soil sample.   A soil
sample will determine many factors but none more important than revealing what the soil will need(or will not need) in order to grow the
selected seed to the best of its ability.  My lab uses state of the art equipment to provide me with the best analysis possible for all types
of soils

After the plot location has been determined, Outdoor Essentials will take a thorough soil sample.  In most cases, lime is needed in
conjunction with a custom mix of fertilizer.  Outdoor Essentials works with all the local Fertilizer Elevators and is able to get the highest
quality custom fertilizer mixes for our plantings.  After the plot has been worked up initially, the lime and fertilizer is spread then disced
in the soil, making the ingredients more readily available to the plants

We take pride in planting your plots and treat every one as if we are planting for ourselves.  Weather plays a significant factor when
planting plots and we take that into consideration as well.  We never plant in drought like conditions nor do we mow or spray established
plots when temperatures/conditions are not conducive for success

Planting Equipment

We have state of the art Planting Equipment and we use high horsepower tractors.  Our methods of planting are broadcasting, drilling,
row planting, broadcasting, or drop casting with the Plotmaster.  Different seeds require specific and desirable planting methods and we
chose the one that coincides with the appropriate seed choice and soil structure.  Either way, you can feel confident that the plot is
planted with the appropriate application

Our Commitment

Once your plot is planted, we will continue to monitor its success throughout the growing season.  We will randomly visit the plot to
monitor its growth.  Once you commit to Outdoor Essentials, we are committed to you and your plots!!
Soil Fertility is one of the driving
